Rules to check for gun bingo in Minnesota
- high Gambling may be conducted only on premises the organization owns or leases, under a board-form lease. A licensed organization may not conduct any activity on behalf of the lessor. A for-profit producer cannot conduct lawful gambling.
- medium People under 18 may not play pull-tabs, tipboards, paddlewheels or raffles. They may not play bingo, except exempt or excluded bingo, or community bingo with a parent. They may sell raffle tickets but may not otherwise help run games. Violations are misdemeanors. The section also limits play by gambling managers, lessors and their families.
- medium Bingo needs no license if it runs on 4 or fewer days a year, or at a fair or civic celebration (up to 12 days, 4 approvals a year). A licensed organization may not use this exclusion. Licensed bingo prizes are capped at $500 a game, with cover-all and progressive limits of $2,000.
- medium Chapter 349 does not ban firearm prizes, but prizes must comply with federal and state law. A pending GCB rule would require a posted policy on prize eligibility for firearm, alcohol and THC prizes. Gun bingo is limited by the $500 per-game bingo prize cap.
- medium A licensed organization may pay a percentage of its raffle gross profit to a nonprofit that sells the raffle tickets. This lets an outside nonprofit earn a share by selling a post's raffle. The statute sets no cap or form.
